National Learn to Row Day on June 6

Are you curious about rowing? Come check us out at our open house on National Learn to Row Day on June 6, 2026! Learn about rowing, meet our coaches, and find out about our upcoming Learn to Row program this summer. Join us at Clinton Lake from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.!

What to wear on Learn to Row Day

๐Ÿ‘• Top: A fitted t-shirt or tank top (moisture-wicking recommended)
๐Ÿ‘– Bottoms: Spandex shorts, leggings, or compression gear (avoid loose pants or baggy shorts)
๐Ÿงฆ Socks: Always wear socks! The rowing shoes in the boat are shared.
๐Ÿงข Hat & Sunglasses: Protect against sun glare on the water
๐Ÿงด Sunscreen

What youโ€™ll learn

  • proper technique, starting out on a rowing machine on land

  • important rowing commands, terminology, and safe boat handling

  • how to get in and out of a boat

  • taking your first strokes in a boat

Attendees should be able to tread water for 5 minutes or will need to wear a personal flotation device while in the boat.
